Sunday Hike

 A Sunday afternoon during fall in Utah... What shall we do? Drive Skyline drive ? Of course! I really missed my Jeep on this adventure. The 4 runner is great but it so lacks character!

 Xadi Bug and I almost made it to the edge of the world but she chickened out on me and wanted to go back to the car.

 WOW! What a view!

 I just love the time I get to spend with this sweet little girl! She is so amazing to me. I've seen Hilary Weeks twice this year and both times she told a story of her little girl and both time said "I'll have eternity to know her as a grown up- but only this moment to know her as a little girl, And to have the privilege to be her mom." That is how I feel about my kids! I'm probably to lackadaisical as a mom, but I really want to cherish every moment of their childhoods! I love to teach them new things, or when they learn it somewhere else and teach it to me. I think this life is a school and I want to teach them the best I can. I want them to try everything and explore the world so they may discover their own interestes and talents. 

 So that being said we hiked around this lake, it was so beautiful and simple amazing When seen through the eyes of a child. I love the why's!

Day 6

It is coming...
It is here...










I love how when it is  about to snow the world outside just has this glow. It is as if Heavenly Father is saying it may snow, be cold, and uncomfortable But, it will be okay.  I love that glow! I love the smell and the barometric pressure (sorry my dad raised a bit of a geek!) before a good storm.



Then after I love the quietness and the puppy prints in the snow.

Day 5

Fall is my favorite time on the lane...

Day 4

 The wind is turning cool
anticipation is on the horizon
Yet I contemplate if I lived this season to the fullest?
Did I cherish each day?
Have I fostered something of worth this day? Especially in the eyes of a child...
Seasons now seem so fleeting just like childhood, you just seem to enjoy a stage or a season then it's gone! You try to hold on and to capture the moment and memory but it's almost like trying to catch the wind...

Day 3

Pick your pumpkins...1...2...3...
I love fall! Orange has always been my favorite color. It just draws my eye and holds it. It is spunky yet grounded. It has an unassuming flair that just makes me happy. I find that orange and I have a lot in common.

Day 2

NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY

 Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold.

 Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour.

 Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. 

I know this poem by Frost is about Morning and spring.

Yet every time I see a golden leaf I think of it and remember 

my first photo class at Weber with my friends Annette and Eliza.

I'm thankful for those days and the wonderful and talented 

friends I met. They expanded my mind and my creativity.

You get super cool and oh so comfy birthday jammies! Thanks Claudia and Celeste! What? Were you thinking something else? Cause that really would be frightening! My kids in there Halloween Jammies! Is it strange that I'm sad that Halloween is over? That and it's Snowing!!!! My Favorite holiday and my riding both over on the same day! DEPRESSING! At least I have candy for the next 24 hours! Then I'm off that and bread until Thanksgiving.
