Which is the Daddy finger?
While driving home the other day Xadi is doing some finger play in the back seat I'm watching her in the re-view mirror and this is what she came up with I was laughing so hard! I was glad we were almost home and I could get her to re-create it for all of you! Enjoy!

Dance, Dance, Dance!
Xadi has had a few little dance recitals this month. What we've discovered is she is a natural born entertainer! Until about two weeks ago it was only her and one other girl in the class so at the first recital only she showed up- so she danced with another class that did a dance she didn't know. Big deal we thought she's only two and a half she'll probably just stand there anyway, No not her, she followed the teacher and did the dance better than some of the four year olds in that class!

Here she is in her chicken costume ready to rock it again! I got video but my internet connection is toooo slow to load it up (okay everyone laugh now we're still hanging with the dinos on dial up!) So any way I just got pictures of her before and walking off!

It was at our Rec center and after they had a Spook-tacular. She had fun playing with her Daddy they went on this creepy canoe ride in the swamps!

When we got home that evening she entertained us more with her new $4 piano from the DI (my yearly trek to find halloween costumes). She would ask us what song we wanted then "played it" for us while she looked at us and sang it. I was impressed!

My sort-of post/ update
Okay so I really don"t have a post or much time- between trying to nest and get over this STUPID COLD! (I know who gets a cold in June? Well my little family- Xadi is just irresistible to the boys at church they give her kisses on the lips- Mother's curse for those of you who remember my day's before Davi.) Anyway "Little Man" is "prepping" for his arrival, just as Xadi did so no reason to get excited she hung out in "position" for 3 weeks! (I hope that was all tactful enough).
I thought I would put up a link to My sister-in-law Caroline's blog so you can check out Xadi's trip to the Aquarium! She loved it! I asked her if Davi and I could take her again she said no only Emily and Aunt Caroline!

Painting
I can't believe it been a month since I posted! What a slacker, oh well what can I say I've been lavishing attention on my girl since she's going to get the shaft soon and mommy just won't be fun for a little bit. I gave Truman the same attention before Xadi was born. then after I just gave him lots of love and kind words while I sat around holding Xadi. I'm hoping my plan will work as well with my non furry child. Be sure to checkout my other posts (Easter and Zoo Days) I finally got up! And Kathee's Blog for some super cute Xadi picts- I think the photographers may have had a little crush on her! Well she does charm the pants off everyone she meets! (you can also check out my AWESOME flowers)
Here are some cute picts of Xadi's first experience with water colors- I really hope she'll be the next Monet but it seems a career in the art of tattoos may be more up her ally, lets hope never to see permanent "sleeves" or face masks on our favorite bug!

Look at those designs and that concentration! What a budding Artist!

Hmmm, What color to use next?

And here is where we start to go south!

Well at least she is pleased with her results and it is washable after all!

Dancing Queen
I thought I'd share some of Xadi's sweet dance moves, from Kathee's wedding (Davi's sister).

She concentrates so hard on her moves it's hilarious I wish I had my video camera with me.

Elbows up!

Don't forget to Jump! Jump! Jump Around!

Make sure you strut your stuff! After all it's your Daddy mixing it!

zoo days
Xadi loves the Zoo! So in light of that and the impending arrival we've been trying to go to the zoo at least every other week. Here are some of the highlights.

She loves the carousel but will only ride on the peacock.

Note the red jacket and the picture on the tiger- she has to sit on it every time and have her picture taken. We almost always wear the red jacket so she can have her red slushy- it's my bribe to have her ride in her stroller then I can get a bit of a workout.

She loves Celeste!

And Daddy too!

This is one of my favorites! Look at the total euphoria on Xadi's face contrasted by Davi's shall we say disappointment in the carousel.

Enjoying the elephants with her cousins Abby and Jack.

Yep on the peacock again!

That's my girl! Love her!
What I love about two year olds!

They love to dress themselves! She had a really cute skirt on over her leggings but she said, "No I don't like it." So I told her it's so cute. She told me, "It's not cute, I don't like it!"
Then notice the jacket! She didn't want me to help her fix it!

Then there is the sweet hair! Just love it! She cracks me up!

This Years Valentines

After I took pictures of Xadi with Elmo She decided we needed a picture or as she calls them "smiles" with her and her baby. Above she is telling her baby to look at me.

Now She is telling her baby to smile.

Then she decided to take over the camera to take her first picture! What do you think? Okay, I may have helped a little.
Davi and I have been going through our storage and it's been so fun to read all of our old cards that we've written to each other over the years. But the problem is they just aren't around or you don't think about getting them out when you want them. So I thought instead I would make him a book that I could fill with love notes as they come to me or he says or does something that touches my heart. Then he can read them whenever he needs to...like when I frustrate him (not that I ever do that).

I also thought I would come clean about my slackerisms. Davi put a ginger bread house for us to decorate for christmas and we never got around to it. I finally decided it would be fun to make a Valentines ginger bread house. It was fun and it turned out really cute. However, our little Xadi went all candy monster on it and kept nicking pieces every time we weren't looking.
Finally I thought I'd share a cute little story. Xadi and I went to the floral wholesaler to buy some flowers for Grandpa to give to Grandma for Valentines Day. As we were walking out of the cooler Xadi spotted some red gerber daisies, she grabbed one for herself and one for me and told me, "from grandpa for Xadi and Mama." So thoughtful...Thanks Bob!

Xadi's Birthday Party
I realize that this is almost a month late but I'll give my excuses later...Really I have a good one.

My first attempt at a creative cake, if you can't tell it's a shoe.

Everyone helping Xadi open her presents!

Xadi the constant observer..."So you take paper off a box and there is something inside. Hmm interesting, how may I ask did you acquire this information?"
"So after that Mommy or Daddy need to put it together?"

"Well I really appreciate the end result!"

The bug is 2!!!
I asked Xadi what she wanted to do for her birthday, She said Swimming so that's just what we did! It was so cute when we were driving into the parking lot she yelled out, "I'm so excited!!!!"

We took her friend Eliza with us and Xadi kept trying to convience her it was okay to get in. It didn't take long.

In the end we all had a wonderful time!
After that we went to Daddy's dance concert at Weber State and
then we went to Zoo Lights at Hogle Zoo. Sorry no pics cause I forgot my camera.

Then it was time for cake...sort of. Does a chocolate muffin count?

Don't worry she'll get a real cake on Sunday when we have our family over to celebrate.

Feeding Daddy cake.
What I love about Xadi:
She has an amazing sense of compassion. For instance, she is always checking on the welfare of others. If you cough she'll come over to pat your back and ask if your okay. She is always concerned with the animals and whether they need food, water, or treats. If they do, she'll let you know. I had my bookclub over about a month ago she served herself and Abby some food then proceeded to tell her, "it's okay- it's good!"
She gives the best hugs in the world, with little baby pats on your back. If you haven't had one you're missing out! They'll just make your heart melt.
I find her incredibly intelligent for her age- sometimes too intelligent!
She always has a smile on her face! It matches her whole disposition which is just infectious!
She loves to pose for pictures- Which is really good since I seem to take a lot!
She loves to talk on the phone- especially to Celeste and Nana. She has daily conversations with them usually telling them some story about a car, although we actually only talk to them once a week if we're lucky.
Well I could go on and on about the things I love about Xadi, but I want to know what do you love the most about Her?
Adventures in Babysitting
Want more Xadi fun check this out! My super cute niece Emily and her friend Lily watched Xadi so I could have a girls night! So much fun! Thanks Jackson Crew!

catch up
I'm posting catch up's from the summer, these are the ones from my phone. Most of the are from this past week but one is from a concert a month ago. Does anyone else feel they are in a constant state of trying to catch up on their lives? Laundry, housekeeping, phone-calls, yard-work, ect... I could fill this post with my list. But alas here is the reason your here Xadi-tainment
So if one is good, Two has to be better!
I love it when I'm right!
Mommy noticed I love the pool but I hate to get splashed, especially my eyes. So here I am loving life with her goggles!
Ah, the pool so refreshing I see why it's one of Mommy's favorite workouts.
Daddy and I going down the slide before the Lady Antebellum concert. I really think he's obsessed with music. Don't you agree?
