Dance, Dance, Dance!

Xadi has had a few little dance recitals this month. What we've discovered is she is a natural born entertainer! Until about two weeks ago it was only her and one other girl in the class so at the first recital only she showed up- so she danced with another class that did a dance she didn't know. Big deal we thought she's only two and a half she'll probably just stand there anyway, No not her, she followed the teacher and did the dance better than some of the four year olds in that class!
Here she is in her chicken costume ready to rock it again! I got video but my internet connection is toooo slow to load it up (okay everyone laugh now we're still hanging with the dinos on dial up!) So any way I just got pictures of her before and walking off!

It was at our Rec center and after they had a Spook-tacular. She had fun playing with her Daddy they went on this creepy canoe ride in the swamps!
When we got home that evening she entertained us more with her new $4 piano from the DI (my yearly trek to find halloween costumes). She would ask us what song we wanted then "played it" for us while she looked at us and sang it. I was impressed!

A Bug's Life

For halloween Davi had to work again, I really don't know if he will ever go trick or treating with us at least on Halloween. We did go to our next door neighbors on Sunday night, Xadi just had to help them out with the rest of their candy I'm sure they didn't want! We were really doing service!
I didn't want to hang out by myself on Halloween night- creepy, boring and I'd feel like a big loser! So I crashed Celeste's Halloween instead! She made Yummy Doughnuts and Hot Chocolate for her Neighborhood. It is always so fun hanging out with her- she's like my older sister, I'm so blessed to have her in my life.
I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee!

Xadi wanted to be a butterfly for Halloween- yea she finally decided on halloween day! I had a cute outfit from Pottery Barn of a monarch butterfly- would she wear that? No, way that would be too easy! So this is what we came up with, I thought it was pretty cute. She has taken to the fake smiles in pictures- I've tried all the clever words, she just says them through gritted teeth! So We told her not to smile...
And finally her copying Charlie...

The cheesey poses continue...
Aunt Christie gave her the thumbs up while I was taking some other photos, so now she thinks that would be great in pictures...
You take your pick! I'll go raid the candy... No not really, Charlie HATES chocolate! and I still have some (okay lots) of fat to burn!

Nighty night...

Ward Camp Out

It rained that night so no pictures of the camp fire.
At least I have some documentation!
Thank goodness for the motorhome!
Notice the road rash on the Bugs face! She as running at Grandma's before we left and fell in the street. I almost cried seeing that! But her- not a tear! I swear she has my Dad's pain threshold- he walks out of almost every knee surgery he's had. Even his orthopedic surgon is amazed by his pain threshold- Xadi amazes her doctor as well.
Well that's all the ward went for a hike, but Davi had to work so we went home.

Nothing turns out as expected...

A few weeks ago my Sister Aimee and I planned a day with the kiddies to the tree house museum- it turned out to be closed for their annual week long cleaning... Okay so we'll go to the park. I was planning on taking lots of cute pictures of the cousins playing together, want to see?
Yep, that was all I got one picture of Xadi walking away from the play ground!
This picture was from our trip to the zoo with Davi's fam and our friends Spencer and Rachel. The funny thing about this picture is the only girl smiling is usually the one giving "the stink eye" as her parents call it, and the other two are usually all silly smiles!
And yea once again my only pict from that day! So how has two kids affected my life? I can't seem to have a day out with them and get the pictures I want. But at least we have fun!

A Day at the Fair

My very beautiful friend Super Fi has inspired me once again, she just gave birth to her 6th-yes 6th- baby and has since been catching up on her blog. So I thought I would as well...

Here is Xadi at the Davis County Fair back in August- It was a miserably hot day!
"Mama the goats smell like stinky"

Xadi loves these cars- anytime we go anywhere that has them that's all she wants to do. I think maybe we'll get her one for her birthday, since she carries the picture around all the time and asks to go to that- and I know she doesn't want to go to the fair since she was miserable that day.

Happy Birthday Babe/Elle/Melissa!

Okay babe, now it's my turn to embarrass you a little bit! Happy birthday now that you're the big 32...Errrr 29! That's still close enough that people might believe you if you told them!

I'm sure you all know Elle is a supermom just like most moms are, but there's a few things that stand out to me that I hope you can appreciate. First, she's the smartest mom I've ever seen. Most mom's think they know all they need to about raising their kids and all that stuff, but Elle seems like she's studying to write her master's thesis! Now we've got the "Parents" magazine coming every month and all kinds of books that say how to "whisper" to your baby or maybe it was something like "your baby's just not that into you." I don't remember. It's not like I've ever read any of them. Why would I when I've got the walking encyclopedia of all that is "kid-dom" at my disposal for any questions or concerns. Second, she's like a gourmet chef all the time! I'm sure most of you have experienced the culinary delights that flow from the kitchen but seriously she is on the J.O.B. 24/7. Making sure I'm fed well, asking me if I want a snack, all that and it's yummy. If only my zeal for cleaning the kitchen could match her zeal for messing it up. :)

Third: We still have a lot of fun together. Even if we're just talking or playing with the kids or whatever, we're usually laughing.

And lastly: She is a such a caring person. She reaches out to everyone around her and buoys them up. Even me. When I'm working the "show" shift (read 7:00 am to 5:00 am, yes that's 22 hours) she always sends me texts with words of encouragement or makes me cookies or sends  me pics of the kiddies. It's good to know she's always got my back and I'm sure some of you know she's got your back too. If Charlie could talk I'm sure he'd say the same thing. Xadi is pretty much a daddy's girl, but Charlie is all Momma's boy. They have a bond that is beyond words.

I love you babe. And it just doesn't seem like we've been on this road as long as we have. Maybe it's because I'm so excited for what's always around the next corner.
Love, Davi

Happy Birthday Davi

I can't believe what a wonderful year it has been! I'm so lucky to have this wonderful man in my life. A year ago while I was in NYC our friend Keith made an interesting observation about Davi. He was curious about Davi's friendships noting that he didn't seem to have many. I agreed that was true that his friendships grew mostly out of convenience (I.E. work, band, church). Over the year I've thought a lot about that, I asked him why? His response, "I barley have time to spent with our little family that I love, why would I want to go hang out with dudes I don't really know? I mean if they're going motorcycling than great I'll go cause I love that too, but just to hang out that doesn't interest me I'd rather hang out with you, my Xadi and Lil man." I certainly couldn't have known it at the time I fell in love with him, but this is one of the things I love most about him. He is a wonderful Father. At a time when so many men have so many other interests that they'd rather not hang out with their family my birthday boy loves to do just that! Can't you just see the love in his eyes? It makes my heart melt!

Oh and he really likes fire too!
Happy Birthday Babe!
